This report provides insight into reserve component (RC) personnel issues through a series of questions and answers that address how the RC is organized, the numbers of personnel in each of the RC categories, how RC personnel may be used and compensated, and what legal protections exist for RC personnel.  It also addresses recent changes in RC pay and benefits made by Congress.
