Center for Internet Security (2025)

This memo provides state and local officials with an assessment of cyber and physical threats to election security. In the run-up to the 2025 elections, CIS warned of threats including targeted phishing attacks, generative AI-driven disinformation, and distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks on election infrastructure designed to erode public trust. The memo also highlights the risk of foreign cyberattacks, including warnings from Arizona officials regarding Iranian interference in state election communications channels.
